Free Public Lecture series
We continue our series of free lectures at West Nottinghamshire College’s Derby Road campus, which are open to the public as well as students.
Dr Gillian Evans will be the guest speaker on Thursday 20 May, when she delivers a talk on "Educational Failure and Working Class White Children in Britain.”
This will be followed on Thursday 17 June by Anabel Jay who will deliver a hands-on demonstration of “The Secret weapon of the suffragette; The evolution of the ladies hat with the emancipation of women”.
HE co-ordinator Nicki Senior said: “We’re very proud to be hosting some inspirational speakers to the college over the coming months. It’s a pleasure to be able to offer these free spaces to the public as well as members of the college.
“This takes us even closer to providing aspects of a university as our higher education curriculum continues to grow.”
Previous lecturers included Phil Stant, former SAS bomb disposal expert and professional footballer and Fraser Doherty, the founder of “SuperJam” and ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year (UK)’ and ‘Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year (2007).
The lectures will all take place in the Vision Centre at the Derby Road site at 6pm-7pm.
