Spotlight on fitness makes students glow
Students at West Nottinghamshire College cast a different light on staying fit this week, keeping up with the college’s health and wellbeing month activities.
A neon-lit special Zumba fitness session took place at the Derby Road-based sports hall on Wednesday (24 January).
The fitness session brought the energetic Zumba dance exercise together with UV light, fluorescent bibs and glow sticks.
Organised by the college’s sport development team in a bid to introduce more students to a range of sports offered at the college, participants danced to Latin American, country and chart music.
Childcare student Britney Corbett said: “I’ve tried Zumba before and it’s brilliant. Today’s session has been a bit different and we’ve had a load of fun with Paula the tutor.”
Tutor Paula Hyde runs Zumba sessions from Regency Dance Centre, off the Market Place in Sutton-in-Ashfield on Wednesday evenings from 7pm. People who are interested can just turn up and sessions cost £4 with the sixth session free.
