Rock group debuts album at college
A local alternate-rock group will be launching their debut album at a free gig at West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre this May.
A student band will play a free gig this May to launch their album
On Monday (8 May), music students Robert Fuller, Ashley Lewis, Daniel Hayes and Heather Barlow from Of Men and Crows will showcase live versions of their songs from their eponymous album.
Describing themselves as a dynamic yet sensitive group, the band who hail from Mansfield, Shirebrook and Warsop, blend melodic hooks and guitar-driven rock of the Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon with the emotional lyricism and classic song writing of the Fray and Against The Current.
The band, who are currently studying on the HND in Music, will be joined by other students who, following a visit to Barcelona earlier this year, will be playing a set of songs influenced by the city, its history, culture and colourful characters.
The performance will be accompanied by visual projections to create a multi-media experience.
Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.00pm. All ages are welcome. Members of the public will need to pre-book tickets at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/175124 but entry is free.
