Fundraiser for furry friends
Animal care students at West Nottinghamshire College have delivered a bumper Christmas wish for animals in need this week.
Animal care students have worked so hard collecting for the RSPCA
The class, who are studying the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care, have been working hard since October to appeal to friends and fellow college learners, to donate items for the RSPCA branch in Radcliffe-on-Trent.
Yesterday, over 50 decorated boxes full of food, treats, blankets, toys and collars were delivered to the RSPCA by the animal-loving students, who are learning about animal health and welfare, how to feed and maintain animals, as well as getting work-related experience in the industry.
Animal care tutor Stacey Allcock said: “The drive and enthusiasm of the whole group has been impressive. They’ve done so well to collect so many useful items for the animals.
“Back in October they designed and distributed their own posters asking people to donate food and equipment and the results have been phenomenal. Not only have they shown enterprising skills but their natural care for animals has shone through.”
The boxes of treats and blankets were distributed on Tuesday (20 December) to the Radcliffe-on-Trent branch, whose mission is to take in abandoned and unwanted animals and find them loving and permanent homes.
