Youngsters give birthday cheers to the queen
The youngest people at West Nottinghamshire College were waving their Union flags and celebrating in style this week in recognition of the queen’s 90th birthday.
Children enjoyed a royal tea party for the queen's birthday
The youngsters at the college's Butterflies Day Nursery, who are aged from six months to five years old, had a lunchtime party on Monday (13 June) to celebrate our monarch’s special birthday, feasting on dainty sandwiches and traditional English scones.
Some of the children also dressed up in fancy dress and happily waved their Union flags at the red, white and blue-themed party.
Nursery manager Kelly Pickbourne said: “The children really enjoyed their lunchtime with a difference. Although most of them will be too young to realise that it’s our queen’s 90th birthday, I hope they can look back at this in years to come to say they were part of the celebrations in 2016 with their own little party.”
