College commends Tarmac for achievements
Employees at the Tarmac office in Retford were applauded last week for achieving their NVQ Level 3 in Sales with West Nottinghamshire College.
Tarmac is the UK’s leading provider of heavy building materials and construction solutions. Fourteen employees at its Retford office have successfully achieved their qualifications in just eight months and received their certificates of achievement at the Retford plant on Thursday (11 February).
West Nottinghamshire College has worked closely with Tarmac for over two years, offering qualifications in Sales and Business Administration through its employer engagement facility.
The college’s business information and technology assessor Malcolm Mallatratt said: "They have been a brilliant to team to work with, displaying a great sense of humour and hardworking commitment which has resulted in 100% achievement.”
Mark Jackson, Tarmac's sales manager for the area, said: “I am extremely proud of my team in successfully achieving this NVQ qualification. It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication on their part and they have all thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working along with West Notts College.
“We have an excellent team at our Retford sales office and their achievement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to deliver exceptional service to our customers”.
There are plans for Tarmac to continue to work closely with West Nottinghamshire College and to develop the successful working relationship.
