Helen’s Double Joy
You may remember a few weeks ago we reported on the success of Plumbing Apprentice, Helen Bennett who snapped up the Personal Achiever Award at the January Nottinghamshire Training Network awards.
Helen, (21) who now works full time for Dukeries Building Company in Mansfield as a plumber, was thrilled to receive this award at the beginning of the year. She is now surprised once more as she discovered this week that she is due to receive the President’s Cup for the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers. On 31st March, Helen will be presented with this trophy at the AGM of Plumbing and Heating Engineers in Nottingham.
Yvonne, who was Helen's work based learning advisor, presented her with a bouquet of flowers yesterday at the College's new Station Park premises, to congratulate her on her latest award. Yvonne said, "Helen has done superb, yet again and she really deserves this success. She worked really hard to get her apprenticeship and is now working full time and doing very well."
At the end of March, Helen will receive a trophy cup, a design manual worth £80 plus money towards her Level 4 qualification which she hopes to take up next academic year.
She tells us, "I am so surprised to get another award and I would really like to thank my tutors who nominated me as well as Yvonne for all of the support she offered me throughout my apprenticeship. She really spurred me on and showed me that I really could achieve my qualification."
