Health and social care students to celebrate their achievements
More than 50 health and social care students from West Nottinghamshire College will be applauded on Tuesday (6 October) at The Towers in Mansfield at a celebration of achievement, which will also be attended by healthcare service users.
The students – who have achieved NVQ levels 2, 3 and 4 in health and social care, Registered Managers Award and A1 Assessor Award – all work for Mansfield-based Workwise Healthcare Ltd in the roles of managers, supervisors and care workers.
There will be a number of special prizes awarded to students at the event, which is being hosted by Workwise Healthcare Ltd’s managing director, Geraldine Orman.
The college's curriculum manager for health, care and education, Marion Gasson, said: “Tomorrow’s event will be an opportunity for both Workwise Healthcare Ltd and college tutors to say well done to all students who have all worked incredibly hard to achieve their qualifications.
“We’re delighted to see that they are nurturing their health and social care careers with one of the area's most respected companies.”
The event will run from 1.30–5.30pm and will have local training providers in attendance including Nottinghamshire County Council, Dukeries Learning Station, the University of Nottingham’s School of Nursing and West Nottinghamshire College staff.
There will also be a short play presented by ‘Grey Matters’; an independent theatre company working in conjunction with the ‘Growing Bolder’ art project for ages 60 plus.
