Students follow Shakespeare’s love story
Performing arts students from West Nottinghamshire College will be putting on a production of a play which is a follow on from William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
After Juliet, by Sharman MacDonald, is coming to the college’s Create Theatre on Tuesday 7 June at 7pm. Performed by Level 2 Performing Arts students, the play reflects the tense truce held between the Capulets and the Montagues after the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
Benvolio, Romeo’s best friend, is in love with Rosaline, Juliet’s cousin. However, Rosaline is bent on revenge.
After Juliet was commissioned by the Royal National Theatre in 1999 for the National Theatre Connections scheme for young people.
Tickets cost £4 and can be purchased by visiting www.createtheatre.co.uk or by phoning the box office on 01623 413363.
