From the West End to West Notts’ theatre
Songwriters of contemporary musical theatre in the West End, Broadway and beyond are coming to West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre stage this October.
A lively evening of song awaits theatre-goers
Audiences will be treated to music from songwriters such as Jason Robert Brown, William Finn and Jeanine Tesori who wrote for shows such as The Book of Mormon, Once, Matilda, Shrek the Musical, 13 and more.
This rare opportunity to hear stunning songs brought to life takes place at the Mansfield-based theatre on Saturday 17 October from 7.30pm. It will feature Morven Harrison, Rob Harrison, James Nelson, Cat Orton and Gareth Wynne.
Performer James Nelson said: "I’ve been lucky enough to perform around the globe - from the world famous QE2 cruise ship, where I was the resident singer, to the West End where I performed for many years - but nothing gives me quite as much pleasure as singing this style of musical theatre.
“It combines hilarious comic songs, soaring harmonies, and beautiful ballads alongside a group of wonderfully talented performers"
The show, which is under the musical direction of Jon Orton, contains mild swearing and sexual references. Tickets can be purchased by calling 01623 413363 or by visiting www.createtheatre.co.uk and cost £10 per person, £8 for concessions and £5 for performing arts students at West Nottinghamshire College.
