Students score a design goal for football club
Learners on the HND Interactive Media and Interactive Media Diploma Level 3 programmes at West Nottinghamshire College have been challenged by Arsenal Media (part of Arsenal Football Club) to produce an ident that could potentially be used in a future live production.
Students were challenged with producing the ident which could feature on the screen to introduce the beginning of a new programme coming to Arsenal Player – an online television station. An ident is a short sequence shown on television between programmes to identify the channel.
Over a period of 12 weeks, students put their talents to the test using programmes such as Photoshop, After Effects and LightWave 3D to create their design and pitched their ideas to Liam Roberts, producer at Arsenal Media Group.
Liam is now tasked with taking the students’ designs back to the directors at the London-based club for them to decide which design could be used on the Arsenal Player television channel.
Liam said: "The standard of work coming out of the interactive media course by the students is of such a high standard.
“Every year that I’ve been back to view their work they keep raising the bar and I think it’s a real testament to the students and staff of the college.”
