As NCS Wave Leader you are required to lead a wave of teams through the summer programme; each team will contain two members of staff and up to 15 NCS participants. You will lead them through a variety of activities including residential stays and a social action programme.
The NCS Wave Leader will be involved with the project from the phase 1 through to graduation. You will work closely with both the team leaders and mentors to ensure the smooth running of each wave of the project and at times may be called upon to lead a group.
The project will involve attending keeping warm activities, and 2 days training prior to the main programme. The programme will run for 4 weeks over the summer which will involve two 5 days residential and a further 5 days planning the social action project. This will be followed by a commitment to carry out 35 hours further student contact delivering the social action project in the last week followed by a graduation ceremony later on in the year.
We particularly welcome applicants who have a First Aid at Work qualification, or other recognised First Aid certification. A full driving licence, with access to a car suitable for use on business purposes is desirable but not essential.
