Students Present Artwork to Global Business

Last week, National Diploma year one students in Art & Design presented Annesley based business, JohnsonDiversey with a selection of painted, photographed and three dimensional artwork for their office surroundings on the Sherwood Park facility.

Tutor Dave Charlton explains. “We were approached earlier this year by Managing Director Ken Bird to produce a series of artwork that represented the world-wide company’s interest in global sustainability. As part of their coursework, our students set to work on producing some eye-catching designs, many of which encapsulated the company’s palm leaf logo. We are hoping to continue this link with JohnsonDiversey and produce work for them each year. We are very thankful to them for the wonderful opportunity to produce art in this way and must say a very big thank you to the Managing Director for the kind donation to the supply of artwork materials for the college.”

MD of JohnsonDiversey, Ken Bird said, “It has been a pleasure working with these students and they have produced some absolute masterpieces for our previously blank office walls. It has been great to meet all of these artists today and show them their work in situ. We look forward to working further with the College in this way as we have a firm belief in supporting local communities. The art that they have produced has been a real talking point amongst our staff who all voted for their favourites.”

Kate Dryden was the student with the winning design. “I was so surprised to win the competition as there were so many stunning pieces produced. My picture represents the machinery that JohnsonDiversey use and staff commented how they could spot these details. I won £50 towards art equipment in the college shop. We all enjoyed taking part and working with this company.”

Over 40 students produced artwork for this project and each received £5 towards the cost of their art materials from JohnsonDiversey.
